Carpathians

Spent five days in lost in small Carpathian village .  Calm autumn days full of colors, fresh air, smiles, sort of local exotics and unexpectedly warm weather. No civil transport, no police.

Air is so sweet that you may get drunk from oxygen invasion. Almost wild jungles randomly populated with people.

Locals are simple kind people. Monotonous hard work and alcohol influence many of them. Nevertheless, small, tidy, clean houses witness their true nature more than some of their habbits…

Rarities are almost in every house. Big wooden flax-combs, old spinning-wheels, ceramic dishes, potbelly stoves of the Austro-Hungarian Empire times…

Survive or give up, work or degrade. This life demands strong muscles, iron nerves and good health to endure never-ending physical work, weeks of rains and alcohol intrusion. If locals stop this routine they will be closer to the incredible nature and that will give them power, energy and knowledge to start spiritual growth.

She is an owner of so-called “Spider’s eye” cafe in Scherbovets. Drink more and you win her heart. She is very generous and if you buy vodka she may present you with a bonus lard. It is her husband, drunk and giggling all the time.

Nature prevails the human factor, there is almost no significant human impact on the environment. A man is still an organic part of Nature.

The village is surrounded with magic forest covering the hills. Cold mountain streams, mushrooms, berries, ancient stones, weird moss,  animals’ trails, high trees…

The wheel of time. These ancient hills  see it all from the very beginning

till the inevitable end…

Everything repeatedly changes. Autumn calmness ends summer fever preparing to winter hibernation and giving hope for spring revival.

Enjoy time passing away
